Axis have recently added four new vandal-resistant models to the Axis M31 series of compact network dome cameras; the Axis M3113-VE, the Axis M3114-VE, the Axis M3113-VE NOCAP and the Axis M3114-VE NOCAP. The Axis M3113-VE and the Axis M3114-VE provide many of the features of their predecessors with the added feature of a vandal-resistant casing to increase reliability in tough applications. The key features of both models are:
- 2.9mm fixed focal lens with horizontal viewing angle of 66°
- H.264 and Motion JPEG compression
- Frame rate of 30fps in all resolutions
- SVGA resolution up to 800×600
- IP67 rated impact-resistant aluminium/plastic casing
- Support for Power over Ethernet IEEE 802.3af (Class 1)

- 2.9mm fixed focal lens with horizontal viewing angle of 80°
- H.264 and Motion JPEG compression
- Frame rate of 30fps in all resolutions
- HDTV 720p 1MP resolution at 1280×800
- IP67 rated impact-resistant aluminium/plastic casing
- Support for Power over Ethernet IEEE 802.3af (Class 1)
N.B. Both the M3113-VE and the M3114-VE have a variant model with almost identical specifications with the added suffix of NOCAP which simply indicates that the model does not come with the weather shield included in the standard model. Removing the weather shield has impact on only one element of the camera’s performance:
The camera tilt adjustment of the standard model (with weather shield) is 0°-65° whereas the tilt adjustment of the NOCAP model (without weather shield) is 0°-90°.
